Elemental Arts - Cultural Fusion </head> <table width="820"> <tr><td> <div align="center"> <h1> <em>Elemental Arts is Pleased to Present</em> <br>"Cultural Fusion" </h1> </div> <p> A show featuring a collaboration between Cochiti Pueblo artist Jonathon Loretto and Mata Ortiz artists Hector and Graciela Gallegos. They refer to their work as "jeweled pottery". Jonathon shapes raw stones to inlay Hector and Graciela's exquisite pottery. </p> <p> These three artists are nationally recognized for their artistic accomplishments. Hector and Graciela took first place in the recent annual pottery contest in Mata Ortiz. Jonathon created an exclusive line of inlaid silver concho belts for Ralph Lauren. Oprah Winfrey wore hers on the November 2004 cover of her "O" magazine. </p> <p> The results are stunning and will be on display for the first time on Saturday, July 14 from 10 to 4 at Elemental Arts, 106 W. Yankie St. in downtown Silver City. You don't want to miss the opportunity to meet the artists and share in this important chapter in the evolution of the Mata Ortiz ceramic movement.
